Friday's Mary Worth


"Once you find a good man, Vera, you'll give up on this silly childhood dream of 'independence'."

So has Vera now acquired Clambake's ability to read other people's minds? Because her statement makes more sense if you read it as a response to Mary's thoughts rather than her words in panel two. Either way, I find it unsettling that the two Charterstonians are standing in a corner while talking about what's sure to be one hell of a pool party. Vera really needs some new friends.
