Sally Forth is of course recycling the Seinfeld eighth season finale plot here, where George, just fired from the Yankees, gets three months pay as a severance package. He decides he's going to do all sorts of things with that time, like read a book and play frisbee golf, and declares it the "Summer of George".
I don't have any problems with the comics copying a Seinfeld plot, since people watch those episodes over and over and they're still funny. Plus I don't mind seeing Ted with some stubble.
